"Just superb..." - 31 March 2008
I only use this gamepad for Fifa 08 on PC, but it is utterly brilliant for playing with. I bought a cheap gamepad before and Fifa did not let half of the shoulder buttons work, or the right analog stick, but it is fine with this gamepad. I might have to check out this other drivers to get vibration function however...
I dont intend to use this for FPS games such as Far Cry or CS Source as I believe mouse and keyboard is better
However I believe this is a great purchase as the quality of the item is robust and will certainly have a long life, and if I buy an Xbox 360 in the future [likely], then I have a gamepad to use...
If you're looking for a quality gamepad, then this is the one for you

"XBOX 360 Controller Review for MS Windows" - 2 September 2007
Like other reviewers, I was looking for a controller/gamepad for the PC. Having fumbled around with 3rd party products I found them to be useless. In the past I used an adaptor that would allow PS2 controllers to be used worked OK but the lack customisation was poor.
Having installed the provided drivers the controller was identified by WinXP immediately, however by doing some research I installed the XBCD drivers (Google this term or look on wikipedia) and I was able to initiate the rumble feature (not supported by the Microsoft drivers in older games).
I use this controller for Dirt, Sega, Nintendo and Winaue emulation - the pad works like a charm! However you do have to spend a few minutes setting up the controller.
If your looking for a gamepad/controller this worth getting, will add a more interesting element to your PC game play. However I do prefer to stick to Keyboard and Mouse combo for FPS!!

"Really good" - 5 December 2006
This controller is great value for money, although it requires drivers once installed it works with just about everything.
I mostly use mine with emulators to play N64 and Snes games, and these work really well. A friend bought a different controller for only £2 less and the buttons doubled up with the d-pad and made it hard to play alot of games with. All the buttons on this controller work independently, are comfortable to press and feel well built.

"Correct Drivers" - 28 May 2008
In order to get the most out of this you need the right drivers - if you google "XBCD 360" you get the correct drivers for this model (if you get just the standard xbcd drivers you can have a lot of problems).
The drivers eliminate the problems other people had (i.e. all buttons work independantly, both analogue sticks work separately, triggers can be set to analogue).
Glad I spent the extra cash to get something of decent quality, would recommend to anyone looking for a decent controller.

"Great controller" - 21 June 2008
I love the design of the 360 controller, its chunky but not too big, and its not at all heavy. Its comfortable to hold for long periods too.
Some reviews have comnplained about the vibration not working on that many games, but that is entirley dependant on the game not the controller, so this cant be blamed on the controller.
Another review I have read complains the analogue triggers don't work on GTA. Well if this review refers to San Andreas, since GTA4 is not on PC yet, that game does not have analogue accelerator.brake controls, it is digital, again not a fault of the controller.
Perhaps my main gripe with the pad is the oddly positioned left analogue stick. For me I would prefer the analogues to be adjacent to one another as I do get a little thumb ache in my left thumb.
Apart from that this is a great controller and highly recommended

"The only controller to buy" - 28 July 2008
The truth is that I was never too big on controllers, but having got a hold of GRID and Lego Indiana Jones, I decided that needed one.
This is THE controller, if you don't already have one, or are not looking for a specialist type, I highly recommend this one!
Pro's: Great design, comfortable in the hands, new games come with in built compatibility (no need to set the keys), great for football, action, platform and driving games, very responsive, same standard as an Xbox 360 controller. No need for batteries, drivers install in a minute. Can be used as a second controller if you have an Xbox 360, the wire means that you don't accidentally turn on the Xbox when you use it.
Con's: It wasn't available a few years ago.
Tested on: Race Driver Grid, Lego Indiana Jones, Devil May Cry 4, Pro Evolution Soccer 4
Overall: Excellent, if you want a controller, this is it.

"Best Controller Ever" - 10 October 2006
The xbox 360 controller is by far the most comfortable and effective controller ever created, the analogue sticks are perfect making it easy to control any game even fps games with a gamepad. The only thing that lets the conroller down are the drivers, which are very poor. I have stopped using the default microsoft drivers and now use 3rd party XBCD drivers (google it) which offer a lot more control.
The poor drivers let the pad down a bit but its still the best pad available for the pc.

"You wont be dissapointed!" - 23 December 2005
Firstly, this controller does what it says it does. It works perfectly on my Windows XP, even though you will need to install the software that comes with the CD. My CD didnt work, but no worries - the manual referred to the Microsoft website in which I could download the software from. This controller looks impeccable, although the green lights only appear momentarily when the PC turns on, so no flashy stuff when you're playing :D Oh and if you're worried, it does work with the Xbox 360 aswell, this controller is a better purchase than the standard wired controller for the Xbox 360. So you get both worlds for the less the cost!

"Very good functionality" - 3 March 2006
Having previously tried both a standard PC pad and an adapted PS2 pad, I can honestly say that this is the best controller I have used for the PC. The analogue triggers make it especially good for driving games. It even works with the Xbox Live headset, which not only works as a mic in all games, but - if the app supports it - allows you to hear voice comms directly into your ear even if you are using speakers for main sound. The only downside is that you need to keep the controller nearby even if you are using keyboard and mouse.
