Editorial: In a nutshell: It's the game football fans wait all year for and to usher in the next generation EA Sports have given FIFA its biggest revamp in years, changing not just the way it looks but the way it plays in what aims to be the ultimate marriage of realism and fun.The lowdown: Every new FIFA game gets its expected improvements in graphics and presentation but this year the success of Pro Evolution Soccer seems to have driven EA to concentrate just as much on the gameplay. As such the game features better passing, crossing and free kicks as well as greatly improved goalkeepers. There's also a new "finesse" shot if you get the time and space to use it, while every kick is calculated in terms of space, composure and technique so that it's accuracy is determined by exactly what's happening on the pitch and not just some random factor. Add in completely new ball physics, more than 510 teams, 27 leagues, 4,000 licensed players and all new international crowd reactions and you've got EA's most concerted attempt yet to make the definitive football game. Most exciting moment: As well as all the individual improvements to ball and player control many of the game's best strikers have their own signatures moves and free kicks, such as Ronaldinho, Frank Lampard and Roberto Carlos. This includes the ability to, quite literally, bend it like Beckham. Since you ask: As befits its global reach FIFA 07 has perhaps the most multinational soundtrack ever in video games, with everything from Argentinean rock band Bersuit Vergarabat to Spain's The Pinker Tones and German group d.o.c.h.! (As well as Britbands such as Muse and The Young Punx.) The bottom line: FIFA gets serious in its attempt to out-football Pro Evolution Soccer .HARRISON DENT

"Can't stop playing it!" - 31 August 2007
Well, this is my first stab at a new Fifa game since Fifa2004. I love this version. Its so much fun and I sit back and admire the goals I've scored on the action replay. One of the things that really impresses me is the commentary actually keeps up with play, unlike in 2004 where it lags behind.
I haven't played online yet, but just playing against the CPU is fun enough for now. Great graphics as well by the way. I've never played PES so I can't compare - but I'm loving this!

"best fifa so far" - 7 March 2007
Very slick soccer game from EA sports, what works about it is the presentation and nice graphics. The xbox again shows it can hold its own with probably the best version on any console.
The pros over pro evolution are more licensed teams and players no more editing more stadiums, more options such as fifa lounge slightly better graphics and realistic movement on the players better commentary ably supported by Andy Gray, gameplay is very smooth.
cons
Too many fouls it got to the point where i was scared to challenge anyone for fear of a red card. annoying soundtrack, easier to score than in pro evo. Xbox football fans will almost certainly enjoy this game especially
playing it with friends.

"better than 360 version!" - 13 December 2006
yes thats right, fifa 07 on xbox is way better than the 360 version of same game, for a start you cant save goals on the 360 version, what where they thinking?incredible mistake to leave this out, if thats not bad enough on the 360 version you cant create your own team! you can only do this on the xbox version,i have both formats of this game but will be trading in the 360 version, graphics for xbox look brillant on my hd lcd monitor but 360 graphics seem too bright, also its easier to score with xbox version, some tweaking on the 360 version has made this more difficult to score than xbox version, buy the xbox version, you wont regret it,best fifa since 2003.

"FiFair" - 4 October 2006
The gameplay itself is a dream to work with. Down to the graphics and player movements, it's what you expect from a football game.
Much more impressive than Fifa 06. The option to create a new team and/or player is a valuable function which adds to the total experience.
The management feature is not too indepth, with the option of playing the match, watching a managed version by textual commentary (football manager style) or just having the result simulated instantly.
There are some downsides: the goalkeepers can be pretty poor, even on the hardest level. The commentary gets repetitive - maybe extra phrases and other commentators could be used?
So the main bits of the play are very good; even looking at the small details well - such as player names highlighted and handballs.
I'll be ringing my phone provider to try out the network option, as it's pretty hard to put this game down.
While previous Fifa's may have lacked gameplay to some, but had extra due to license rights, Pro Evo had gameplay, but lacked a license.
Now Fifa has caught up with the gameplay and will be getting Pro Evo camp a little worried at this latest improvement.
Very Enjoyable. Enough features cramped in, without sinking into too much detail. First stop for a football game that you should buy.

"Better than the 360 version!" - 31 October 2006
This is a great game. It preceded the release of the 360 version by 1 month so I was really looking forward to the 360 version. However I now just play the Xbox version. Why? - Because it is better.
This game has all the divisions and stadia from previous FIFAs (although Highbury has gone and replaced by the new Arsenal stadium) plus more like the Turkish league and the Wembley stadium.
The game is really easy to play with the buttons being the same as before but now controls have been added. For example you can now curl the ball after shooting. Also you can jostle when under a high ball. The gameplay is excellent and so varied. In the old FIFAs there was always a way to score the same goal again and again but here all the goals are scored in different ways.
Unlockables are bought with points gained for completing challenges and include kits and teams. (Challenges are different in the 360 version.)
There is a new mode to add teams so you can add your Sunday League team.
Manager mode follows the successful pattern of the 06 version.
And the graphics of a high standard. You always can tell when Henry or Ronaldinho are on the ball. The build-up to matches includes a great bit in the tunnel where the players line-up and have flashes of the game coming up like a tough tackle.

"The best footie game on the xbox" - 10 October 2006
Not just the best Fifa on the xbox, but the best footie game on the xbox. This plays so much better than any other fifa game and is more fluid than the PES games. ALso the ball doesn't seem to stick to the players feet now! If somebody had shown me this without the loading screen i would not have believed it was fifa. Well done EA!

"this game is very good almost as good as pro" - 4 October 2006
Fifa 07 is a very good footballing game. It is very addictive and very fun to play. The gameplay is very good crosses have been improved as well as shoots and skills, It is almost as good as pro but a let down is that the graphics haven't been changed but apart from that everything else is very good. So if your wondering should i get fifa 07 you should as it is very goood.

"FIFA 07" - 9 October 2006
Fifa has gone abit down hill recently with 2005 and 2006 being rubbish really. bu t this year it has come back and is better than ever i think it will really give pro evo a run for it's money.

"best game, hbting ever!" - 15 September 2006

"If you like football, get fifa 07!!!" - 20 January 2008
It's the game that football fans wait all year for, and it doesn't dissapoint. It really immerses you in the game, to make you feel as if you really are out on the pitch.
Perhaps the only problem for seasoned players of fifa is that the only way to unlock the top level of difficulty is to win every game in a season of Manager Mode, which I myself sometimes just can't be bothered to do!
But you've probably got a lot more staying power than me.
All in all this is definitely a great game, beaten only in quality by fifa 08.
