"Not as repetitive as people say" - 12 August 2008
Yes, the game is essentially cover, shoot, cover but it is not as repetitive as some people suggest. If all you do is run for cover, especially on the harder levels, an enemy will come and melee attack you and you're dead. There are also a variety of weapons that change gameplay and the final boss is definitely more challenging than ducking behind cover and shooting; there is timing and movement involved as well. I really enjoy this game, especially co-op missions and I'm sure shooter fans won't be disappointed.

"Best Game Ever?" - 17 August 2008
I have had this game since launch date, however, it is only recently I have really started to play it. At first when I played it it just didn't really feel right and I didn't get into the game at all. I think this was mainly because I was enjoying myself too much on call of duty 3 online which is great fun.
However, this is one of those games that you have to play a lot to really appreciate how damn good this game actually is. I've seen many people moan on about how short the campaign is, I say it is just the right lenght, it took me 6-7 hours to complete the whole game, via xbox live with a friend I might add which is a brilliant idea, however, I do think the story could have been explained a bit more as if you read into the story,, you find it is a very detailed plot.
To online play. In verses ranked matches, again, you have to play the game quite a lot to really get into the game. At first when I played online I thought it was rubbish, everything was over too quickly, it was too difficult, but after playing it for a while I just can't get off the game.
Overall, this is easily the best 360 and next gen title by a mile, nothing compares to the awesome graphics and game play. At £20 odd pounds it really is a steal, an absolute must buy, believe the hype. Astonishing game.

"GEARS OF WAR IS MUST BUY!" - 13 May 2008
When Gears came out i never heard of it or any of the hype surrounding it, so when i went round my mates and picked up the game case and asked him to play it i didn't know what i was in for. After playing it after 5 minutes i was already drawn in by the incredible graphics created by the unreal engine. First thing i thought to myself after playing that game is i must get a 360! So i eventually did and you bet this was the first game i got for it! I'm so glad i bought this game.
If you new to the 360 and looking for some games this i would very highly recommend it is incredible.I am seriously unsurprised that it has become a Classic for the Xbox 360. BUY NOW!!!

"What a Game!!!" - 31 August 2008
I got this game when i got my xbox, over a year ago now. While i play many other games, some are better, I always come back to this classic. At 16.95 you cant do better. It is a brilliant game with depth and a fantastic storyline. cod4 may be better, but this game is what, nearly 2 years older(im not sure on the exact date). While i love to play cod4 with my mates, gow realy is a timeless classic i keep coming back to.
CANNOT WAIT for gow2!!!! Only 2 months to go yayayayayay!!!!!

"My Review" - 7 July 2008
I think that Gears of war has a very good online, multiplayer experience, btu it's very hard online and host advantage is very annoying. The single player campaign is good but also hard, it has been said that it's so hard that in GOW2 they're making an easier difficulty, but it's well worth witnessing the stunning surroundings and graphics.

"Extremely Repetitive" - 4 July 2008
This game isn't a bad game, the graphics are amazing and the storyline great. Yet the gameplay is the same all the way through minus the vehicle scenes. All you do is duck/cover behind something in every mission. And the Final boss, guess what you have to do? Duck and Cover.
Did not live up to the hype for me, however you may find it enjoyable so go ahead doesn't get much cheaper than this.

"Great Co-op Game" - 8 October 2008
Gears of War is the most fun Co-op game i have played on the 360. The single player was interesting and it keeps form getting repetative by introducing the player with different enemys and lots of them. The game includes some awsome features like co-op, xbox live and of course chainsaws. I wasn't the biggest fan on the online because i thought the teams were a bit small and some people kept repeating the same thing over and over again. All in all a great game and a favorite among my friends.

Wow when i first bought this game i had little expectations from this against Halo 3 and other FPS games currently out there but i surely didn't regret buying this!!!
Graphics in this game are amazing and all the blood and gore makes this game a step ahead of all other FPS'S out currently.
There are a variety of weapons to use (CHAINSAW BAYONET!!!!!) It's so much fun chainsawing an enemy to see them get chopped into pieces, makes you feel powerful ^^
The campaign is.... short but sweet and with some challenging achievements to get, this game with surely leave you feeling satisfied afterwards.
Overall an excellent FPS and is a MUST BUY!!!
