The Xbox 360 has always been priced in between the PS3 and Wii consoles.

Since it's release the Xbox 360 has gained significant market share in both the UK and US against the PS3, however the Nintendo Wii console has attracted a new kind of gamer that may have never purchased an Xbox 360 or PS3.

Hugely popular games such as the new release Wii Fit Plus and the Wii Sports Resort have helped the Wii Consoles recent popularity, together the the sexy looking Black Wii.

Microsoft are fighting back with their own Kinect peripheral. Using 3D Cameras, the Kinect for the Xbox 360 allows you to use your body as a controller. High demand is expected which will make it difficult to find the Kinect stock.

All 3 manufacturers have released new versions of their consoles, most recent being the XBox 360 Elite, PS3 Slim and Wii Black (only currently in Japan). Remours of a high definition version of the Wii continue, with no official word just yet.

Nintendo have also broken new ground in 2011 with the release of it's 3DS hand held console, featuring a 3D screen which does not require the use of special glasses. Again, 3ds stock shortages are expected making it difficult to find the 3DS Console in stock.
